Last night, I was on my way to the Bowery Ballroom to see the always-awesome Lizzo. I had taken some knitting with me for the train ride, like I usually do, and was working on it while I waited.
Then I noticed the coordination between my manicure and the hat I was working on.
I went to Paintbox in Soho last weekend as a holiday excursion with the ladies in my family/extended family, and we all got gel manis. I opted for the copper-on-turquoise look you can see above.
In case it wasn’t abundantly obvious, that shade of blue is my color.
I didn’t plan this! I decided to start knitting this hat the other day, and grabbed that ball of yarn because it’s a nice hearty wool that I bought in New Hampshire over the summer. I thought it would be a good choice for a winter hat, since it’s so warm, and the smaller needle size makes a nice dense fabric. I didn’t think about the color all that much until I looked down and saw the coordination.
Sometimes it’s little things that make me chuckle. It’s not usually my style to be super matchy-matchy, but I guess I’m a woman who knows what she likes. So many things I own are shades of turquoise — I can’t help it, my Irish complexion looks good in greens and greenish blues — that I just had to laugh at how very me this moment was.
